Description The total length of the sword mounting is 337.0 cm, the length of the scabbard is 231.0 cm, the length of the hilt is 107.5 cm, the long diameter of the scabbard is 10.7 cm, the long diameter of the hilt collar is 10.7 cm.
The Handguard: height 12.7 cm, width 9.6 cm, thickness 1.7 cm, hirumaki-wrapping 1.6 cm
Length 216.7 cm, curvature 6.4 cm, base width 5.6 cm, spearhead length 7.2 cm, base thickness 1.9 cm, length of the tang 10.77 cm, made in the Nanbokucho period.

Both the sword fitting and scabbard are covered with a linen cloth base, the top is wrapped with Yamakane-style hirumaki-wrapping and in-between filled with rusted base cloth, and the surface is polished and lacquered with hakeme-coating (brush mark) with a wave pattern. Five blue metal fittings are placed at equal intervals on the scabbard and two on the hilt.

The cap and collar of the hilt, scabbard mouth, blue metal fittings, and hirumaki are all made of unrefined copper. Inome sukashi pattern can be seen in the collar of the sword guard, the pommel, and the scabbard tip. The sword guard is hamidashi-style and it is thick and round border. Each side has one spacer. The blade style is kanmuri-otoshi-zukuri, iori-mune, normal curvature, and medium spearhead. The base forging style is oitame-nagare, forging structure clearly visible, with coarse steel particles (ji-nie), yubashiri-jifu mixed; The edge pattern is nie-deki with ko-midare, and the activities in the steels are ko-ashi, yo, and sunagashi. The upper half part of the blade has these activities in the steel: faint nioi, in the blade body, it is mixed with tobiaki-style. The temper of boshi forms slight irregular lines of ""Midarekomi"" with sweeping up style, the pointy tip has a long and cloudy reflection, and it has a blade collar (“habaki”).
This tachi is an example of an odachi that was popular in the Nanbokucho period, but the Nenekiri sword differs from ordinary tachi mounting in that it lacks the foot metal fittings for the obi-tori. It doesn’t have kurigata knob in the sword mounting, but with hamidashi-style sword guard. The hirumaki is wide, and the overall metal fitting is of the Yamagane-zukuri style.
“Nene” here refers to the Nene who lived in the swamp of Mt. Nikko. The sword is said to have spontaneously slipped out of its scabbard and cut the nene (which said to be a kappa).

In recent years, this sword has been in the spotlight as a swordsman in the popular online game ""Touken Ranbu ONLINE"".
