Description The place where Futarasan Shrine was first enshrined is said to be the current Hongu Shrine. Shodo Shonin is said to have built Jingu-ji Temple in 784 after reaching the summit of Mt. Nantai, and constructed the main shrine of Chugushi Shrine.
The current Futarasan Shrine is called Shingu, and before Toshogu Shrine was enshrined, it is said to have been located on the current site of Toshogu Shrine, but was relocated when Toshogu Shrine was constructed.
