This work is always very popular among children. The bike is made much larger than the real thing, with each part and detail carefully considered. Our imagination will be filled with wonder as to how far one could go astride it, how it would run, and whether there are dreams and romance to be had in its destination. This work, which expands the viewer's imagination, is actually made of a common material, which is cardboard. When you approach the work, you will see the familiar jagged cross-section of cardboard. This work was created by New York-based artist Ushio Shinohara, who is known for his intense performances such as "boxing paintings”. The license plate is inscribed with the word "SHINOHARA" in the alphabet and the address where the artist lived at the time. |
