Use of the Content

Follow the rules listed below when using the information provided on the Tochigi Digital Museum SHUGYOKU (hereinafter referred to as “content”). By using the content, you are considered to have agreed to these rules of use.

Guidelines on How to Cite the Source

  1. When using the content, make sure to credit the source. Use the following format when providing credit:

  2. When using the content after making any alterations, such as editing or processing it, make sure to acknowledge these changes, in addition to crediting the source as stated above. Do not disclose or use altered information in a way that suggests it was created by the prefecture and related organizations.
  3. The copyrights of the image data displayed on the Tochigi Digital Museum SHUGYOKU are owned by Tochigi Prefecture or third parties (including the owners of the cultural resources). When using the image data, please obtain the required permission according to the conditions set for the Secondary Use of Images.

Respect the Rights of Third Parties

  1. In some content, the copyrights and other rights are owned by third parties (individuals or organizations other than Tochigi Prefecture. The same shall apply hereafter). When using content owned by third parties, including those with other rights (e.g., portrait rights and publicity rights in photographs), obtain permission to use from the relevant third parties on your own responsibility, except for content that expressly states its copyright has been managed.
  2. For some content owned by third parties, the ownership is either directly stated or implied through citation of the source or other indications. However, not all such content clearly specifies or explicitly indicates which parts are owned by third parties. When using such content, make sure to verify the ownership of the relevant parts on your own responsibility.
  3. Certain content owned by third parties can be used without the copyright owner’s permission if it is legally recognized, such as for reference purposes.

Contents outside the Rules of Use

The following content is excluded from the rules of use:

  1. Symbol marks, logos, and character designs that represent organizations and specific projects.
  2. Content explicitly stating that it is governed by different rules of use, with clear and reasonable grounds.

Governing Laws and Agreed Jurisdiction

  1. These rules of use are interpreted according to Japanese law.
  2. Any disputes regarding the use of content under these rules of use, or disputes about these rules of use, shall be handled by the local court having jurisdiction over the location of the organization that publishes the content or the rules of use relating to the disputes in question. This court will serve as the court of first instance.

Disclaimers

  1. Tochigi Prefecture shall not be held liable for any actions taken by users based on the content (including any edits or modifications made by users).
  2. The content is subject to change including modification, transfer, and deletion, without prior notice.

Other Notes

  1. These rules of use do not limit any use recognized by copyright law, including reference.
  2. These rules of use are subject to change in the future.
